Cleethorpes is a seaside town which is changing rapidly. New businesses
and developments are growing daily, increasing the popularity for
holiday makers worldwide, and not just from the uk. Cleethorpes has
wonderful, large beaches and for this, it has been awarded the Blue Flag
Award. The north and south of Cleethorpes are totally different. The north
has the usual seaside attractions with seaside donkeys and candy floss,
and the south has a beautiful beach with sand dunes and is very
relaxing.
Cleethorpes-in-bloom has won placings for 2 years running,
with silver in 2006 and silver gilt in 2007. Grimsby was once the most
important fishing town of the east coast. It is well known as the food
town of Europe with many large frozen food companies here, it is now
known for the huge amount of industry on the banks of the river Humber,
with a large international shipping terminal based at Immingham, which
is the busiest in Europe. |
